About Westin Kierland Golf Club (Scottsdale, AZ)
Since it opened in 1996, Kierland has been applauded as one the best courses in the desert. Scott Miller's dynamic 27-hole design challenges the golfer with changes in elevation, more than 300 bunkers, dry desert washes, stands of desert trees, and a variety of water hazards. For after-golf delights, the 19,000-square-foot clubhouse features the Brittlebush Bar & Grill. The course also now features air-conditioned golf carts, definitely a first!

I felt like they thought they were doing me a favor to let me play their Golf Course. We were split into a foursome, a three some and a twosome.

Courses (Acacia and Ironwood) were fun, not too difficult, but not a walk in the park either. They did provide some "resort bounces" that keep play moving. Air-conditioned carts were great and the condition of the course was the best of those I played on this trip.

We enjoy the Kierland Course and the course conditions were just as we expected them to be. The pace was a bit slow, but it was mid morning and they were quite busy, so you just enjoy the time out and have fun. We heard some people complaining about how slow things were, but I figure we are on vacation in 90 plus sunny weather, some things you just deal with. If people are in that big of a hurry, then golf is not your game on most days.

As is the standard with Troon golf, this course was immaculately groomed. Although we were not on their tee time list, they made accomodations for us and made us feel very comfortable.
